We Are Not Just Another Indian Restaurant.
We are just us. Authentically South Africanly Indian, if there is such a thing.
Now in our third year of re-defining what it is to be a modern Indian restaurant, we are always trying to tweak here and there to create a perfect menu in a perfect space.
We revive several of the classic meat dishes, we offer a wide range of veggie & vegan dishes and we just come up with new ideas and give them silly names.
Many of our recipes are based on those of Indian ancestors who arrived in South Africa as indentured labourers 150 years ago. Recipes adapted from a Tamil heritage with wonderful creativity applied to different available local spices.
Our name, Vadivelu, the name of co-owner Jason’s late father, is a nod to this ancestry.
Our menu is short, interesting, changing and delicious. It’s Indian for sure, but with attitude!

For all tables of 6 and more we request a deposit of R100 per person during the booking process. The deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of its scheduled seating time. If the booking goes ahead, the deposit will be deducted from your final bill. We are a small restaurant and big table cancellations make life very difficult for us, thanks for understanding!
